When we talk about health in our society, it is only about healthy body. Nobody pay attention towards mental health. Mental health is as important as physical health. Just like our physical health, our mental health can have ups & downs.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, & act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others & make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood to adulthood. Mental illness is very common among youngsters. Some facts related to Mental health that one should must know:

• It is found in research that mental illness begin by age of 14.

• 37 percent of students aged 14 or older with a mental health issue drop out of school.

• Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in students aged 10-24 with 90% of those dying by suicide having an underlying mental health issue.

• Youth in local or state Juvenile justice centers 70% have a mental illness.

• There are five prevalent issues: Depression, Anxiety, Suicide, Eating disorders and addiction.

Many people feel fear when first recognise a mental health issue within themselves as they might not be able to figure out where it came from. Factor such as significant like changes, politics, family, academic pressure, work stress, relationship issues and money these all can contribute to change in mental health.

In this case one should know more about themselves. Exercise, sleep, diet can help people feel better and they can share their problem with the closest friend or family member with whom they are comfortable. They can take help of doctor if needed but ignoring mental problem can lead to unbalanced life which will create more problem in one’s life.
